Sulfur Chemiluminescence Detector (355 SCD) The Sievers 355 Sulfur Chemiluminescence Detector (SCD) is the most sensitive and selective chromatographic detector available for the analysis of sulfur compounds. The SCD utilizes a stainless steel burner to achieve high temperature combustion of sulfur containing compounds to form sulfur monoxide (SO). A photomultiplier tube detects the light produced by the chemiluminescent reaction of SO with ozone. This results in a linear and equimolar response to the sulfur compounds without interference from most sample matrices. Since measuring trace levels of sulfur compounds is of great importance to a number of industries, the SCD has become an important analytical tool for problem solving and monitoring product quality. The complete SCD system includes the stainless steel burner, interface controller, vacuum pump and detector. In addition, an option is available to allow for the acquisition of both Flame Ionization Detector (FID) and SCD signals.

Sulfur Specific Analyzer (SSA 5504) Sievers® 5504 Sulfur Specific Analyzer (SSA) offers unsurpassed sensitivity and selectivity for the measurement of total or speciated sulfur in gaseous samples. Designed for complete versatility, the SSA 5504 can be used in the laboratory or remote locations for off-line, at-line or on-line discrete sample analysis. For simplified reporting, the specially designed software automatically collects and summarizes the analytical results. The SSA 5504's modular design, which includes the gas-sampling hardware, isothermal oven and computerized user interface, allows for straight-forward and inexpensive maintenance. Employing Ionics Instruments patented Sulfur Chemiluminescence Detector (SCD) technology, the SSA 5504 provides a linear, equimolar response over a wide concentration area.

Nitrogen Chemiluminescence Detection (NCD 255) The Sievers® 255 Nitrogen Chemiluminescence Detector (NCD) builds on Ionics Instruments expertise in chemiluminescence detection technology. The NCD is a nitrogen specific detector that produces a linear and equimolar response to nitrogen compounds. This is accomplished by using a stainless steel burner to achieve high temperature combustion of nitrogen containing compounds to form nitric oxide (NO). A photomultiplier tube detects the light produced by the subsequent chemiluminescent reaction of NO with ozone. Because of the specificity of the reaction, complex sample matrices can be analyzed with little or no interference.
